9 ball and mini golf

There are a couple of games that I play quite often as they help me with getting my head back

The first one is 9 ball pool a game that is a lot of fun for me to play as I have to go from 1 to 9 and then the game is re racked. It helps me sometimes to re think as the computer shows me the angles that I need to hit but I do miss some shots and that means I do not get a perfect rack

The other one is called mini golf as it is the same but I do use a few different courses for this and it does help me to re think as I have to pass the optical and put the ball. There is one whole that I consider impossible as I can not get the right amount of pace.  The golf club does make it easier with arrows.

I also have to get up to think also

some info on giro 10-04-14

1. Time bonuses

Time bonuses are available on every road stage (not time trials) of this year’s race, which could make a big difference to the tactics of Vincenzo Nibali. The Italian favourite will be looking to snatch every second he can from Bradley Wiggins and could do so on any uphill finish. The time bonuses on each stage are:

1st place – 20 seconds

2nd place – 12 seconds

3rd place – 8 seconds

Time bonuses will also be awarded to the first and second riders over the line at each intermediate sprint. There are two intermediate sprints each day, six seconds will be awarded to the first rider and four to the second rider.

2. Mountain top finishes

There are seven mountain-top finishes in this year’s race:

Stage 10 finishes at the top of the Altopiano del Montasio (1,519m). The climb is 22km in length, although the first 11km is more of a drag than a climb. The steepest section is 20% at approximately four kilometres to go

Stage 11 sees a less severe climb to the finish with the 7.5km climb to Vajont (809m) at the end of the 182km stage. The steepest section is just 9%

Stage 14 is the first of three tough stages in the Alps finishing in Bardonecchia (1,908m). The final climb is only 7.25km long but is consistently steep. It also comes immediately ate the long climb up to Sestriere

Stage 15 boasts the highest finish line in the race at the top of the Col du Galibier at 2,642m above sea level. The Tour de France finished here in 2011 (when Andy Schleck won) but this year’s Giro is coming from the opposite side. The riders tackle the 16km Col du TĆ©lĆ©graphe first then start the Galibier from Valloire giving a final climb of 18.1km in length with a maximum gradient of 11%

Stage 18 is the mountain time trial that takes the riders from Mori at 187m to Polsa at 1,205m. It’s a 20.6km climb with a maximum gradient of 10%. There are two very brief flat sections around halfway.

Stage 19 takes the riders up three big climbs, finishing at Val Martello Martelltal (2,059m). This 22.35km climb has two sections of 14% as its steepest points. Before this climb the riders will have taken in the Passo Dello Stelvio, the highest point on the race at 2,758m, and always a focal point of the Giro.

Stage 20 is the final, and perhaps the hardest, mountain stage of the 2013 Giro. THere are five categorised climbs on this stage, the last one being the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (2,304m). It’s only short at 4.75km (it comes hot on the heals of two smaller peaks) but it has a cruel 18% gradient for most of the climb.

Stage 4 could almost be considered a summit finish, but not quite. The summit of the category 2 climb Croce Ferrata (907m) comes 6.7km before the finish line from where there is some descending and a false flat to the line. Strictly speaking it may not be a hilltop finish but it should force and early shake up of the GC.

3. Prize money

The prize pot for the Giro d’Italia is a lot smaller than that of the Tour with a total prize fund of €1,383,110. €90,000 goes to the overall winner while second place takes €50,000 and third place €20,000. The winner of each stage pockets €11,010 with money going down to 20th place (€276 for 10th – 20th positions). Winner of the points jersey gets €71,500 with €45,800 going to the King of the Mountains.

Some Man United fans were expecting a miracle last night but it never happened as Byern Munic showed why they were seen as the best team in Europe Byern seem to be the strongest side at half time as it looks like they have control of the match at half time wit 0-0 which would put them through on away goals.

Valencia gets the ball down the right and cuts the ball across the box. It bounced the way across to Evra who hit a quality half volley across the goal and into the corner. Neyer had no chance. You can only get this type of shot from a half volley. Man United lead 1-0, 58 minutes gone

Byern get a goal a couple of minutes later as Ribery pulls a ball over from the left.  The alert Mandzudic gets in front of Evra at the far post to steer very accomplished stopping header past De Gea it came 22 secconds after the restart and this says what has went wrong with Man United this season

Robben tests Evra on the right and hammered a sharp cross to the near post. Muller reacted brilliantly getting ahead of Vidic to side foot ahead of De Gea into the net Byern lead 2-1,  68 minutes gone.

Man United have little to play for now as Robben gets the ball and runs with it Vidic is trying to cover him but he cant trying to pretend to shoot at every turn when he doers the deflection goes off Vidic and into the corner. Robben now will be looked at as one of the best of his generation 76 minutes gone 3-1 Byern Munic

Byern Munic showed why they are the strongest team and man United are finding it hard to get Europa league but United fans should ask where are these performances in England

Final score Byern Munic3-1 Man United

To say anything other than this is Athleticos biggest match in about 20 years would not be bringing the importance of this match and they won from an early goal

Aidrian Lopez had a shot which crashed against the post and then a clever Aidrian Lopez header at the other side of the goal found Koke who side footed the ball into the net

In an exciting start to the game athletico hit both posts and the crossbar. Barcalona best chance came as the second half began as Xavi passed a ball into Nemar only for Thibaut Courtois to pus the ball away under the Brazilians feet

Final score Athletico1-0 Barcelona Athletico win 1-0 on aggregate and go further than they have in 20 years

014 Giro d’Italia to feature historic start in Belfast

The dust has barely settled on the 2013 Giro d’Italia before the wheels are already starting to spin to put next year’s corsa rosa in motion.
The 97th Giro will make an historic start in Belfast, the thriving capital of Northern Ireland, with three days of racing that will also include a stage into Dublin before transferring back to Italy.
It’s an ambitious project that will bring the peloton into the heart of Ireland and provide local organizers a platform to show off sweeping changes in Northern Ireland to an international audience.
“The symbolism is huge,” said project director Darach McQuaid. “Starting in Belfast puts an important message out there. It will make a statement, and the start of the Giro is going to shout that out.”
Rocked by decades of violence and political upheaval, Belfast today is a thriving, vibrant city that is keen to show off its new colors since the 1998 Belfast Agreement, which helped put an end to decades of conflict.
Local organizers have embraced the idea of starting the Giro in Belfast and have worked to bring the project to fruition by next year’s start in early May, McQuaid said.
The idea took seed in 2009 and 2010 when McQuaid, the brother of UCI president Pat McQuaid, first floated the idea to Irish officials.
With Ireland mired in economic crisis, he approached Belfast, where he quickly found enthusiasm for the idea. He took the plans to Giro officials, meeting with Angelo Zomegnan and his successor, new Giro director Michele Acquarone, who also found the idea appealing.
A site visit last year by Giro officials sealed the deal.
“The Giro officials liked what they saw,” Darach McQuaid said. “Everyone is working together to make this happen.”
Route details will be hammered out in July when key Giro officials spend a week in Ireland to scout possible routes. The general outline, however, is already set.
Belfast will play host to the opening two stages, including a route along the spectacular northern coast at Giant’s Causeway. A third stage will start in Amargh and cross into Ireland, finishing in Dublin, which hosted the grand depart of the 1998 Tour de France.
From there, the Giro entourage will board planes to return to Italy. Organizers are still finalizing details of where the Giro will return to Italy.
McQuaid said organizers are getting around logistical challenges by creating a self-contained entourage that will stay in Ireland.
“We are going to replicate everything here, so there will be no coming and going to Italy,” McQuaid said. “When they arrive in Italy, there will be another set waiting for them there.”
More than 300 cars, vans, and trucks will be organized in Ireland, allowing teams and riders to travel to Belfast with a relatively light load. Teams will have the option of bringing their own vehicles.
Other infrastructure, such as the podium, starts and finishes, and race barricades will all be provided locally, meaning the transfer back to Italy should be dramatically easier.
Giro officials got the green light from teams before signing off on the project.
McQuaid said he’s also hoping the Giro’s departure will help revive sponsor interest in the Tour of Ireland, which stopped for a second time in 2009 after a three-year return.
“Cycling is absolutely booming in Ireland,” McQuaid said. “There is significant interest in relaunching the Tour of Ireland. It’s a good time for Irish cycling right now.”
