Day 8 US Open

Day 8

Men’s

At the start of the match we did not know if Swiss player Roger Federrer wanted to be there as Tommy Robredo took control of the first 2 games. Federer did get his game up to scratch though after that as he broke back and throughout the set but I think when Robredo got the fifth game in a break of serve it wore Federer out. He did get the game that he needed but when it came to the tie break there was no sense of the great one as Robredo took control and won the tie break 7-3 but I think that that there is more in Federrer.

The second set was determined by one disaster game by Federrer on love to make the score from 4-3 to 5-3 but Robredo did get himself out of a hole to win the final game of the match.  Robredo was 40-15 down and came back to win the game and the set to lead 2-0. The exact same thing happened in the third to put Robredo into the next round. I think that Robredo may be able to get to the quarters but when he has to play a big time player I think he will find it difficult.

The legend is out. One of the greatest players put in a very disappointing performance yesterday in certain bits and through analysing this match I am sure that there are things that Federer can take out of the match. Is the great ones age catching up with him? And can he beat a great or is it time for him to retire. I think he should be thinking about it or getting in people that can help because in his prime this wouldn’t happen

A tiebreak was what settled the first set as Phillipp Kohlscriber during the tie break was never actually behind and he looked good for it and when he got it did not help him as Nadal got the required break needed and one the set 6-4 to leave the match tied. Rafa then broke at 2-1 to make it 3-1 and he never dropped his break he hit some amazing shots during this set and looked like he was starting to control the match. In the fourth it was like  as Phillipp Kohlscriberwasnt there as Rafa took a 5-0 lead and took complete control with 2 breaks but the German did get a game before the inevitable happened 3 hours and 12 minutes after the start of the match and that is that Rafa is through to the next round but I do wonder how fit he is if he is fully fit I think he can win it but if not the next round or the round after he will definitely be one I am looking at.

Spaniard David Ferrer got through  after beating Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia on a rather week performance on his behalf as every set he won was close winning the first 7-6 loosing the second 6-3 winning the third 7-5 and the fourth 7-6 he is not someone  you would want to draw at any stage of a competition but he is battle ready

Women’s

Camellia Georgio led the first set 4-1 before loosing the set 6-4 she must have very disappointed in herself. In the second Roberta Vinci took control of her own fate as she won the second set 6-2.  I like Vinci for the semis but beyond that I am not sure

Itilian Flavia Pennetta had got control of the first set as she got 2 breaks and did not allow Simona Halep to get into the match at all but in the second she made it her mission to take Pennetta on and she did to get a break up 6-5 in the second set but Pennetta  came right back to put the game into a tie break. Halep got the first point Pennetta got the following 6 loosing the next 2 to win on Haleps serve to reach the next round which is an all Italian tie with Vinci national rivalrys mean that anything can happen in the next round but I am going Vinci

Day 7 US Open

DAY 7 us open

Andy Murray cruised into the last 16 of the US Open beating Germanys’ Florin Mayer in straight sets. In the first set he found it difficult as he had to win a tie break by 7 points to 2 in the second and third it became easier as he won both sets by 6 games to 2

Leton Hewit got through to the last 16 after beating Evgeny Donskoy of Russia. The first was quite easy as he won 6-3 then he won the following set in a tie break but began to loose a grip of the match as he lost the third by 6 games to 3 but destroyed him in the fourth as he took control and  won 6-1

Serb Novac Djockavic showed us today why he is seeded no 1 in the world as he cruised past Portuguese player Juao Sousa in straight sets 6-0 6-2 6-2 and during the match he was only broken once. I think when it gets to the quarters we will see what he is made of but not before then

German Tommy Hass could only win one set in this match he was expected to win. Russian Mikhael Youzhny pulled of a great shock and won the first 2 sets 6-3 6-2 but Hass managed to get one set back as he won the third 6-2. The Russian came back and controlled the match as he won the fourth 6-3 to go into the last 16 draw.

In the women’s side of the draw Spaniard Suaraz Navaro defeated Angilic Kerver but this game was very close as in the first set Suarez Navaro took control to win it 6-4 in the second Kerver had control of the set as she won by 6-3 and it all came down to the tie break which Suraez Navero won by 7 points to 3

Serena Williams cruised through to the last 16 with a 6-4 6-1 win over fellow American Slone Stevens and she looks like she can beat anyone at this point
No 24 seed Ekaterina Makarove of Russia pulled a big shock out of the bag as she defeated no 2 seed Agniszka Radwanska of Poland 6-4, 6-4. Results like this come rarely in your lifetime lets all hope that she reaches the quarter finals

Na Li of china cruised Serb Jelena Jankovich to go into the last 16 after beating 6-3 6-0 and she looks like one of the stand out players for this tournament

Day 4 US Open

Day 4

Womens

Caroline Wosniaki of Denmark cruised into the third round of the US open yesterday with a 6-1 6-3 win over Chantelle Scheepers of South Africa I think that she will be one to watch.

Serena Williams also hadn’t got a problem as she cruised into the third round after beating by 6-3, 6-0 after beating Galina Voskobeva and will definitely be there somewhere as she makes her way into the third round.

Mens

Canadian Milos Raonic had no problem defeating Spaniard Pablo Andujar as he did it in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 6-4 and assures his spot in the third round.

American John Isner had a bit of a classic as he beat French man Gail Monfis 7-5 6-2 4-6 7-6 I do not hold much hope for him but anything is possible.

Tommy Robredo of Spain defeated Frank Dankavich of Nijeria 6-4 6-4 6-1 in straight sets to reach the third round.

Rafa Nadal had no problems in defeating Brazilian Rogero Dutra as he only droped 3 games as he won 6-2 6-1 6-0.

Brit Evans pulled of a major shock as he defeated Austrillian Berard Tomac ecpecially as he lost the first set 6-1 but he clawed his way back in with a 6-3 and a tie break win 7-6 to lead the match he had the killer instinct to beat Tomic 6-3 in the final set.

US Open Day 2

29/8/13 Day 2
I do apologize for it being later but I was out and I got information from highlights

Womens
Heather Watson went out to Romanian Simona Halep. Watson started well in the first set but this seemed to be the thing that started Halkep up. As the Romanian got better winning the second 6-4 and the third 6-2 and better I think that the last 16 will be as far as she can go but you never know in this game.  Watson needs to work on her stamina.
Caroliine Wosniacki had a major scare as she was 5-2 down in the second set but she did manage to beat Ying Ying Duan 6-2 7-5 If she has problems at this stage I can not imagine her winning but a quarter final or semi and I feel she will have done well
Victoria Azarenka destroyed Dinah Pfizenmaeir 6-0 60 and with form like this I have to think that she is the favourite for the us open as she seemed to be awesome

Also  Victoria Duval caused one of the shocks of the tournament by beating Sam Stosur by 2 sets to 1 and I feel that she will be quite happy with herself she will find it a lot harder in the next few rounds but she will be very happy to be in the second round

Mens
In the first round Roger Federer beat Grega Zemlja in straight sets. But getting the win at the end seemed to be the most difficult thing for him to do. Federrer won the first and second sets quite easily but the third was quite tough and it says to me that there might not be that thing in him but he will bet better and better a quarter is realistic but he has got an outside chance of winning this with his experience.

Serbian Novak Djokovic had no problem handling Ricardas Berankis as he won 6-1 6-2 6-2. If he can keep form like this up there are very few people that can stop him going to at least the semi finals but I would think that he will be in the final. The early rounds can tell someone’s form and in my opinion Djokovic blew his opponent out of the water good form

US Open Day1

I am writing my blog about the US Open Tennis.  I am really interested in this and I hope other people will like my summary and thoughts.

26/8/13……………………..Day one

In the men’s draw
Rafa Nadal blew away Ryan Harrison is straight sets but it is too early to look at him as a contender. It did take him a while to warm up though as he won the first 6-4 but then you began to see his power as he got better in the last 2 sets.

Unseeded Brit Dan Evans pulled off one of the matches of his life to beat no 11 seed Kei Nishkori in straight sets.  This will do massive things to his confidence. I think that pulling a result out of the bag like this could put him up to a lot higher and knowing that he can beat much better players should change him and his game.

Burnard Tomic has had a massive scare as it took him all 5 sets to get past Alberto Ramos in the first round. I could not see him go very much farther than this at this stage.

James Blake’s decision to retire with a high ranking of number 4 is a big deal. He is very young to retire as a sportsman but I hope that he is content in it

On the women’s draw
Slone Stevens had to get herself out of a massive hole as 1-1 in sets and 6-6 in games. It looked like she could go out but she got the confidence to win the final tie break
Serena Williams appears to be the one to watch as she destroyed Francesca Schivone as Schivoni only picked up one service game in the whole match. Serena knows how to win and use little energy and she did both here
Brit Laura Robson put in a brilliant second half of her match winning 9 games in a row against Lordez Domenguez Lino of Spain. . But I do worry whether she could have this type of form against higher seeded opponents. If she gets the form she has here I believe she could go to the last 16.

what technology means to me

What technology means to me

If it wasn’t for technology I may well have been completely forgotten about. It is through technology I have come to have a real meaning in my life as I know I will always want to be able to write and continue to learn how to make cartoons I am still learning. I learn at a different pace from everyone else so with the right technology and support there is nothing I can’t do.

song writing

Song writing

I now have got a fascination with writing songs as I feel that I have got a lot to say but I don’t really know how to say it. The first time that I wrote a song was because of something I saw on TV that made me both upset and angry. My tutor’s boyfriend has put some of the words to music and I went down his home to record the sound. The technology he had there I found to be very impressive and I loved recording with him.

I enjoy writing songs as it helps to think in a clearer way than what I have done It feels good to put down on paper what I have in my head. Sometimes I find it hard to say what is in my head so writing songs helps me express my thoughts.

If you are creative and can think in a different way you do not know what way your mind will go
